i was tired of wasting money at recording studios and so i figured, if i can mix everything myself, i’ll be set. f*** music theory. teach me how to mix!

this mindset died when i realized i couldn’t cheat my way through Adam Pietrykowski’s ear training. ever since that failure, i pledged to understand music.

my journey at purchase since my sophomore year has consisted of me just becoming a better musician, and this senior year has reflected that. i spent the fall and beginning of my Spring semester producing Dahsir’s senior dance project, and once that was done, got a band together and started performing. this might sound like not that big of a deal but to put into perspective, all i could do was sing and produce before college. i feel comfortable on the bandstand now and was able to record in the studio like Miles and Thelonious! and although i will forever continue to learn and grow, i think ‘little me’ would think i’m cool.
